Zone of the Enders: Dolores I spielt ein paar Jahre nach der OVA Zone of the Enders: IDOLO. Der ständig besoffene Spacetrucker James Links gerät scheinbar durch Vorsehung an einen Orbital Frame. Er weiß zwar nicht wo er da gerade reingeschlittert ist, aber er ist bereits mittendrin. Schon bald verfolgt ihn die ganze Welt, sogar das ganze Sonnensystem. Er kann niemandem mehr vertrauen, aber vielleicht hilft ihm ja seine Familie, die er vor Jahren beim Tod seiner Frau verließ.
